GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital integrates clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration establishes a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Registered Nurse (Part Time-Nights). Our ideal candidate provides compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adult patients in a fast-paced Pediatric Emergency Department setting. The Pediatric Emergency Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering safe, family-centered care. The Pediatric ED RN collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure timely treatment, stabilization, and discharge or admission planning.

Responsibilities include triage, medication administration, IV starts, monitoring patient responses, assisting with emergency procedures, patient/family education, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications Requirements: DC RN License required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred). Minimum of 12 years of recent pediatric emergency nursing experience required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
