Summary :
Taltran Global has been exclusively retained by a long-established, private equity-backed lower-middle-market manufacturing organization seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. The company has built a strong reputation for engineering quality, product reliability, and long-standing customer relationships.

Following a recent private equity investment, the business is entering an ambitious multi-year growth phase. The strategy includes modernizing and expanding manufacturing operations, strengthening the company's financial and operating infrastructure, expanding higher-margin aftermarket and service offerings, and pursuing a disciplined program of strategic acquisitions.

The CFO will join the organization at an important inflection point and play a central role in building the infrastructure, capabilities, and organization required to support significant growth. The business retains a strong entrepreneurial and engineering-oriented culture while transitioning to a more sophisticated, professionally managed operating model.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as the senior financial leader for the organization and a strategic partner to the CEO, leadership team, and private equity sponsor. The position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to directly influence the company's financial infrastructure, operational performance, and long-term growth.

The position also offers meaningful long-term equity participation and the potential for substantial wealth creation as the company executes its growth and value-creation strategy.

Key Responsibilities :
The CFO will provide leadership across the company's core accounting and finance functions, including but not limited to:

· Build and professionalize the company's financial infrastructure, including accounting, controls, reporting processes, and a consistent monthly close and reporting cadence

· Develop robust managerial and cost accounting capabilities for the manufacturing operation, including unit economics, labor costs, production efficiency, throughput, inventory, and plant-level performance metrics

· Lead forward-looking financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling, scenario analysis, and long-range planning

· Partner closely with operations leadership on manufacturing productivity, capacity expansion, cost improvement, and broader operational performance initiatives

· Lead the evaluation and implementation of a new ERP system and improve the integration of financial, operational, customer, and manufacturing data

· Support the company's acquisition strategy, including financial due diligence, transaction analysis, acquisition modeling, and post-close integration

· Build and develop a high-performing finance organization, adding capabilities across controllership, FP&A, and accounting as the business grows

· Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team on capital allocation, pricing, profitability, investment decisions, and growth initiatives

· Establish a strong working relationship with the private equity sponsor, providing timely reporting, analysis, and insight consistent with an institutional-quality operating environment

· Help establish the systems, processes, controls, reporting capabilities, and organizational infrastructure necessary to support the company's continued growth

· Drive greater financial visibility and analytical rigor across the organization while maintaining a hands-on approach to problem solving and execution

Qualifications and Experience :

Required :

· 10–20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, ideally including experience in both a sophisticated organization and a smaller, resource-constrained environment where the candidate helped build or professionalize the finance function

· Direct experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing economics, product or unit costing, labor, inventory, production efficiency, and operational KPIs

· Strong FP&A, cash flow modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and business-partnering capabilities

· Solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to oversee accurate, timely financial reporting and appropriate controls

· Hands-on, entrepreneurial operating style with the ability to build processes, systems, and teams without relying on a large existing infrastructure

· Strong communication skills and the ability to serve as a genuine thought partner to an engineering- and operations-oriented CEO

· Based in or willing to relocate to the greater Philadelphia area, with the ability to work on-site on a full-time basis

Preferred :

· Prior experience in a private-equity-backed or growth-equity-backed company, including exposure to sponsor reporting and management incentive plans

· Direct M&A experience, including financial due diligence, acquisition analysis, and post-close integration

· CPA designation

· Experience selecting, implementing, or significantly upgrading an ERP system

· Prior experience helping a company professionalize its financial infrastructure during a period of rapid growth or ownership transition

· Prior experience creating meaningful value or participating in a successful liquidity event

· Long-term interest in broader general management or CEO-level responsibility

 

Compensation and Opportunity :

The position offers a highly competitive executive compensation package designed to reward both near-term performance and long-term value creation. In addition to an attractive base salary and performance-based annual incentive opportunity, the CFO will participate meaningfully in the company's management incentive plan.
