Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law ranked international firm with Chambers and Legal 500 recognized transactional practices seeking a Managing or Senior Associate M&A and Private Equity to join its New York, NY office.

This position combines sophisticated M&A and private equity work for high growth technology, energy, infrastructure, and finance clients with meaningful responsibility on complex cross border transactions. You will work closely with hands on partners in a collaborative team, gaining direct client exposure, clear progression, and the support of a well established international platform.

The Role

• Lead and support complex domestic and cross border M&A and private equity transactions across core industry sectors
• Act as key deal team member, coordinating diligence, negotiating documentation, and managing transaction workstreams for sophisticated clients
• Draft and refine share purchase agreements, asset deals, joint venture documents, ancillary corporate agreements, and board materials
• Interface directly with clients on strategic issues, timelines, and commercial points in a fast paced environment
• Work closely with partners and senior lawyers, gaining substantive ownership and visibility on significant transactions

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a Managing or Senior Associate M&A and Private Equity with:

• 4 to 7 years of leading law firm experience focused on mergers and acquisitions transactions
• Strong corporate transactional skills, including drafting and negotiating core M&A and private equity documentation
• Membership of the New York State Bar
• Excellent academic credentials and refined written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work from the New York office in person 5 days per week
• $310,000 to $420,000 base salary, depending on experience
• Performance based bonus in line with comparable Am Law transactional roles
