A premier global law firm is seeking a Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions Senior Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing leading private equity sponsors, growth equity investors, portfolio companies, founders, and strategic buyers in sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.

Ideal Background

• 5–6 years of private equity and M&A experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
• Experience representing private equity sponsors, growth equity investors, venture capital funds, portfolio companies, founders, and strategic acquirers
• Experience leading and managing significant portions of mergers and acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity investments, venture capital financings, exits, and other strategic corporate transactions
• Ability to independently manage transaction workstreams while coordinating with specialists, opposing counsel, clients, and internal deal teams
• Experience drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, merger agreements, stock and asset purchase agreements, equity investment documents, operating agreements, disclosure schedules, and ancillary transaction documents
• Experience conducting and managing legal due diligence, transaction structuring, closings, and post-closing matters
• Experience advising clients regarding corporate governance, equity compensation, and general corporate matters
• Strong business judgment, drafting, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple complex transactions while maintaining significant client interaction
• Excellent academic credentials
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
