Interim Accounting Manager

A great UHY client is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager . The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger and financial close experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to improve accounting processes within a fast-paced, multi-location environment. The Interim Accounting Manager role is a onsite position. This is a contracted position. Interim Accounting Manager Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other monthly accounting transactions. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation. Support the monthly financial close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Assist with internal financial reporting packages and supporting schedules. Analyze financial results and investigate variances, unusual activity, and balance sheet fluctuations. Support accounting activities related to operations, product supply, rebates, and other recurring business transactions. Assist with cash reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, intercompany accounting, and other accounting processes. Partner with Accounts Payable, Treasury, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve accounting and transactional issues. Help establish scalable accounting workflows, controls, and documentation standards. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement. Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to audit requests. Assist with developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures. Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable reporting requirements. Support ERP implementations, process redesign, and accounting system enhancements. Assist with establishing scalable accounting policies and workflows within a growing organization. Partner with Finance and operational leadership on reporting, analysis, and business initiatives. Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as needed. Interim Accounting Manager Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA-track preferred. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes. Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. Experience with financial reporting, account analysis, and internal controls. Experience in a multi-location, franchise, retail, automotive, or service-based organization preferred. Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and establish scalable accounting procedures. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Self-starter with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
