Patent Prosecution Associate – AmLaw 100 Firm

Full-Time

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate with 1–4 years of experience to join its intellectual property practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience in patent prosecution, patent bar membership, and a strong technical background in the life sciences, chemistry, or related disciplines.

This role involves supporting patent prosecution matters for innovative clients across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and emerging health technology sectors.

Qualifications:

• 1–4 years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm
• Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Bar required)
• Advanced degree required in one of the following fields: cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, bioengineering, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or digital health-related disciplines
• Prior patent agent experience preferred
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range is $225,000–$310,000 , depending on experience and year classification. Discretionary merit-based bonuses may also be awarded.
