Superintendent (Restaurant Construction)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead restaurant build-outs and renovations from pre-construction through turnover. The Superintendent will manage on-site construction activities, ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and coordinate closely with owners, general contractors, vendors and restaurant operators to meet operational and health-code requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily on-site supervision of restaurant construction and renovation projects, ensuring work meets plans, specifications and quality standards.Create and maintain project schedules; coordinate subcontractors, trades and vendor deliveries to meet milestones and minimize downtime.Monitor project budgets and cost controls; identify and communicate potential variances and implement corrective actions.Enforce safety protocols and compliance with local building codes and health regulations; conduct jobsite safety briefings and inspections.Coordinate with restaurant management and owners to align construction activities with operational needs and customer-service considerations.Manage quality control processes, conduct inspections, and ensure corrective actions are completed before turnover.Oversee inventory of materials and equipment on-site; coordinate receiving, storage and protection of supplies with minimal waste or loss.Develop and deliver on-site staff training for subcontractor crews and client-side operational staff on systems, handover procedures and safety practices when required.Build and maintain strong vendor relations and negotiate on-site service and delivery schedules.Prepare and submit daily reports, documentation for inspections, change orders and closeout packages; facilitate final inspections and project turnover.Drive operational efficiency by identifying process improvements during construction and handover phases to reduce downtime and cost.QualificationsProven experience as a Construction Superintendent with a focus on restaurant or commercial food-service projects (required).Demonstrated construction management expertise including scheduling, subcontractor coordination and on-site supervision (required).Working knowledge of restaurant-specific building systems, health regulations and regulatory inspection processes (required).Strong leadership and team-management skills with a track record of training and directing crews and coordinating with client staff.Experience managing project budgets, tracking costs and producing accurate forecasts and change order documentation.Familiarity with inventory management, vendor relations and materials coordination on construction sites.Solid understanding of quality control procedures and ability to enforce standards to deliver turnkey restaurant spaces.Excellent communication and customer-service orientation; able to liaise effectively with owners, operators and municipal inspectors.Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools and standard office software.Relevant certifications such as OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, and a drivers license preferred.
