Qualifications 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing (Required) 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) & nbsp; Work Experience 4 - 5 years An acute care setting in area of specialty & nbsp; (Required) 0 - 1 year of demonstrated proficiency in critical care competencies at expert level & nbsp; (Required) 1 - 2 years in Previous leadership & nbsp; (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Required Certifications/Licensures: Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred Certifications/Licensures: Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) & nbsp; Essential Functions

Collaborates with other health professionals to meet healthcare need.CARE TEAM LEADERSHIP:
Supports, leads, and directs clinical care leadership team in the absence of the Director/Manager. Directs and delegates clinical staff to meet patients' needs based on competency of personnel. Participates in the assessment of staff competency and educates, coaches and mentors staff to achieve competence. Ensures staff provides ongoing assessment of patients including the review of lab results and reports abnormal findings to physicians. Monitors procedures performed Has demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis and appropriately direct activities. Is approachable by staff Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in providing supervision and management to a team of licensed and unlicensed personnel during an assigned shift on designated unit(s) who provide direct and indirect patient care for an age-specific population.QUALITY AND PATIENT SAFETY OUTCOMES:
Implements unit specific strategies and colleague specific practice remediation that result in achieving specific clinical quality and patient safety outcomes. Assists with communication of information to staff. Provides coaching/counseling in a constructive manner. Keeps Director informed of any concerns, situations, or conditions relative to staff, patients, family members or physicians. Participates in the orientation of new employees. Serves as a positive role model, mentor and resource person for less experienced nursing staff. Supervise employees on their respective shifts and prepares input for annual evaluations. Must demonstrate exceptional maturity to facilitate a positive work environment. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of pathophysiology and related disease process of the critical care patient Keeps current on trends and development in nursing and serves as a resource for critical care standards of practice. Demonstrates ability to think critically, prioritize, and recognize emergencies and responds with proper protocol. Additional Duties Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
