You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.Help drive the evolution of automation and data-driven operations within HarbourVest! In this role, you’ll support the Accounting, Performance, and Portfolio Analytics functions by building, rolling out, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This important role requires strong technical skills, a heavy data focus, and the ability to help lead and mentor a small team while translating data, findings, and operational needs into clear, actionable outcomes.The ideal candidate is someone who is:A hands-on automation professional with strong technical proficiencyHighly data-driven, with proficient coding and analytical capabilitiesAn emerging people leader who can mentor, develop, and support team membersAn effective collaborator and relationship-builder, working cross-functionally across fund and investment operations and with technology partnersExperienced in developing, implementing, and coordinating automation initiativesWhat you will do:Automation Development and Rollout: Build, test, deploy, and maintain automation solutions that support Accounting, Performance, and Portfolio Analytics workflows.Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large datasets, identify trends, validate outputs, and present findings clearly to collaborators and leadership.Business User Support: Partner closely with business users to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure automation solutions meet operational needs.Escalation Management: Triage and resolve issues related to automation, data outputs, and process exceptions; coordinate with relevant teams as needed.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes, improve controls, enhance data quality, and increase operational efficiency.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation for automation logic, processes, controls, and user guidance.Communications and Storytelling: Create clear presentations, summaries, and updates that communicate progress, findings, risks, and impact.Support department-wide initiatives and special projects as needed.What you bring:Strong SQL, Python, and general coding skillsExperience building, deploying, and maintaining automation solutionsExperience mentoring team members, supporting prioritization, and helping drive team developmentStrong data analysis, validation, and reporting capabilitiesAbility to present data, findings, and recommendations clearlyExperience supporting accounting, performance, portfolio analytics, or investment operations functionsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issuesAbility to manage escalations and communicate resolution plans effectivelyDemonstrated experience working cross-functionally with business and technology teamsStrong focus on detail, accuracy, and operational excellenceAbility to effectively balance multiple priorities and deadlinesEducation PreferredBachelor of Arts (B.A.) or equivalent experienceBachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experienceExperience6-10 years in Finance, Investment Operations, Data & Analytics, Technology Automation, or related rolesBase Salary Range:$145,000.00 - $158,000.00#LI-HybridThis USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography.
