Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for a casual per diem position at an emergency room in Jacksonville, Florida. The role involves performing laboratory testing procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring specimen quality to support patient care in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen acceptability according to established testing criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures per departmental protocols
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and quality control materials
• Report accurate test results and document preventive maintenance procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computers
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed
