Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will perform essential duties in the Medical-Surgical and Intensive Care Unit departments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care through evidence-based practices, effective communication, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient health status, including physical and emotional needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain patient records and documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, medication management, and rehabilitation plans.
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide emotional support to enhance overall patient experience.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Intensive Care nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Line of Authority

This position reports to the RN II, Emergency Department - Director of Emergency Department.

Location

Position available in multiple locations within the region, including cities across various states.

Unit Details

Unit Description
This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and it's services (i.e. Trauma registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here. NCI Required. Moderate Sedation Training required.
