Medical Laboratory Scientist *Temporary*- Providence Kodiak Island

Description Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Providence Kodiak Alaska Medical Center in Kodiak, AK. Full time, 0.9 FTE, 12‑hour variable shifts, 36 hours per week. Responsibilities The Medical Technologist conducts clinical diagnostic testing on inpatients, outpatients, and residents, including blood draws and specimen collections for processing. Performs therapeutic phlebotomy, conducts quality control procedures on patient tests and laboratory equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic testing, and reports patient data to the medical record and/or medical staff if results warrant direct contact. Required Qualifications Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology. Within 1 year of hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Association of Bioanalysts. Preferred Qualifications 2 years work experience in a clinical laboratory.
