Job Type: Contract
Shift: Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 45 Hours/Week
Pay: $20 - $24/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant (MA) to support front-office and back-office operations, including patient intake, clinical support, scheduling, phlebotomy, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, excluding externship experience.

• Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.

• Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required.

• EMR experience required.

• Front-office and back-office experience required.

• BLS or CPR required.

• Strong computer, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients professionally.

• Perform patient check-in, rooming, and preparation for examinations.

• Obtain and accurately record patient vital signs.

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients with routine inquiries.

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture.

• Administer vaccines as directed and within applicable scope of practice.

• Perform EKG and Point-of-Care (POC) testing as required.

• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.

• Assist providers and clinical staff with patient care.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.

• Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures.

• Maintain patient confidentiality.

• Support health education and outreach activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills

• EKG testing experience.

• Point-of-Care Testing experience within the past 6 months.

• Athena-EMR experience.

• Recent appointment scheduling experience.

• Recent patient rooming experience.
