Nexeo Staffing is partnering with a leading engineering and construction organization to hire a Senior Civil Designer for a high-impact, long-term program in Ogden, Utah. This 100% onsite role supports the design and development of large-scale, complex facilities, with a focus on civil site and horizontal engineering. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in civil design for industrial or complex commercial projects and be highly proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support civil site and horizontal designs for large, complex facilities.
• Prepare and review detailed civil drawings, studies, calculations, and 3D models in compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Design grading, earthwork, drainage, paving, access roads, and site utilities.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit to produce high-quality engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate civil designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and systems engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and constructability reviews.
• Interpret and apply industry standards, including AASHTO, ASTM, FHWA, MUTCD, and WBDG.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts across disciplines and construction phases.
• Support quantity takeoffs and compare design quantities against project estimates.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and prioritization of civil design deliverables.
• Review and coordinate technical documents with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation, redlines, and revision control throughout the design lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana use.
• Advanced experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in civil site design and horizontal projects, such as rail and telecommunications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD, and WBDG standards and codes.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, details, and techniques.
• Understanding of the technical responsibilities of disciplines associated with facility design.
• Ability to independently execute detailed civil site design drawings of moderate complexity.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, including drawings and specifications.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to resolve design challenges with engineering teams, construction personnel, and clients.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of related design experience; Associate degree with 11+ years of related design experience; or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related design experience.
• Preferred experience with large industrial, infrastructure, or commercial development projects.

Pay

$100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Schedule

Full Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
9x80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
