Inside Sales Manager

Location: Gary, Indiana

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are partnering with a growing steel manufacturing organization to hire an Inside Sales Manager who will lead and develop a growing Inside Sales team.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands inside sales, customer service, quoting, and order management and is ready to bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a fast-paced commercial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams within steel, building products, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Inside Sales Representatives and support personnel
\n
• Serve as the primary point of coordination between Inside Sales and Outside Sales
\n
• Oversee quoting accuracy, consistency, turnaround times, and adherence to pricing guidelines
\n
• Manage team workload and account assignments to maintain strong customer service levels
\n
• Establish and track KPIs including quote turnaround, quote-to-order conversion, order volume, and order accuracy
\n
• Serve as an escalation point for customer issues, order challenges, and delivery conflicts
\n
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop new team members as the organization continues to grow
\n
• Partner closely with Operations to improve scheduling, order flow, and production handoffs
\n
• Drive process improvements across Inside Sales and help strengthen overall sales operations
\n
• Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on team performance, workload, and staffing needs
\n
• Maintain a small book of accounts as needed and provide direct customer support during peak periods
\n

Qualifications

\n
• 5+ years of inside sales, customer service, or order management experience
\n
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
\n
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable
\n
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, accounts, and team members
\n
• Comfortable using metrics and data to evaluate performance and workload
\n
• Experience working with CRM and/or ERP systems
\n
• Strong communication skills across customers, sales, operations, and leadership
\n
• Experience within steel framing, building products, metals, manufacturing, or industrial distribution strongly preferred
\n
• Experience helping build or scale a team during a period of growth is a major plus
\n
