Structural Designer

Structural Designer / Detailer Opportunity for Structural Designers/Detailers to support the design and detailing of structural steel systems and fabricated components. This role involves creating 2D drawings and 3D models, developing fabrication documents, and supporting projects from concept through installation. Key Responsibilities Create 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SDS2, or similar software. Develop shop drawings, fabrication drawings, cut lists, and assembly drawings. Produce detailing for structural steel components such as stairs, platforms, handrails, mezzanines, and support structures. Perform material takeoffs and maintain project documentation. Coordinate with fabrication teams, engineers, customers, and field personnel. Support construction and installation by resolving design issues and conducting occasional site visits. Qualifications Required: Experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD Structural detailing or steel fabrication experience Ability to read blueprints and structural drawings Experience producing shop drawings and fabrication documents Preferred: SDS2 experience Structural steel design experience AISC fabrication environment experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, civil, structural, or mechanical engineering Welding, fabrication, or industrial construction experience Work Environment Fully onsite position Monday–Friday, approximately 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Employee-owned company Direct interaction with fabrication shops, field installers, and engineering teams Strong opportunity for advancement and leadership growth Exposure to a wide variety of industrial and structural projects Ideal Candidate Someone who enjoys structural steel design, fabrication, industrial projects, and wants to grow into a well-rounded structural designer while working closely with both engineering and field/construction teams. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Holly, MI. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
