Accounting Specialist

Staff AccountantPosition Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and assisting with month-end close procedures. This role requires independent judgment, ownership of assigned reconciliations, strong ERP proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams. The position reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records.Primary Responsibilities:Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsPrepare and post journal entriesReconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including bank and vendor statementsAssist with month-end close procedures, including accruals and adjustmentsSupport bi-weekly payroll processing and new hire setup within payroll systemsPartner with Project Managers to follow up on past-due customer accounts and assist with collections effortsMaintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policiesExperience: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Exposure to month-end close processes Hands-on ERP/accounting system experience Experience supporting collections efforts Strong Excel skillsEducation: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred Bachelor's degree is a plus but not required Equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience will be considered
