Our client in Berlin, Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of basic accounting functions, and the ability to support a busy finance team in a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
- Reconcile invoices, statements, and other financial records
- Support month-end closing activities and reporting
- Process payments, expense reports, and account updates
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and documentation
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing and payment questions
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed
- Previous experience in an accounting assistant, bookkeeping, or similar support role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with accounting software is a plus
