Accounting Assistant

Our client in Berlin, Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of basic accounting functions, and the ability to support a busy finance team in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
  • Reconcile invoices, statements, and other financial records
  • Support month-end closing activities and reporting
  • Process payments, expense reports, and account updates
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and documentation
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing and payment questions
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed

  • Previous experience in an accounting assistant, bookkeeping, or similar support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus
