Your Role at Baxter

This is where my hands make life-sustaining products. Responsible for the proper performance and quality of a wide range of metal fabrication operations in the department. Set-up and operate a variety of machines and equipment. Responsible for utilizing people, machines, methods and materials to achieve quality, cost, delivery and safety objectives. Fill in for absences when necessary.

Your Team

You will be part of a hands-on manufacturing team responsible for metal fabrication operations, working closely with supervisors, operators, and support functions to ensure production goals are met. The team focuses on maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety while supporting daily production needs.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Perform a wide range of metal fabrication operations, set-up and operate a wide variety of machines and equipment, and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
2. Work from schedules and verbal and written instructions to plan work in proper sequence and to train and assist operators to perform their work in the proper and prescribed manner.
3. Assigns work to individual employees, follow up to insure completion of assigned tasks: re-assign personnel as workload varies with changing conditions.
4. Instruct and train employees in job procedures, sequence of operations and other phases of work.
5. Perform various related duties to assist supervisor in maintaining the flow of work. Check various operations and assist as necessary in the solution of difficulties, including the performance of production work, scheduling assistance and programming adjustments.
6. See that all necessary materials are on hand and equipment is in order. This may include scheduling, preparing and moving of material, rework, etc. They may be required to move stock and material.
7. Responsible for both quality and quantity of work: Participate in team activities and problem solving sessions as required. Communicate problems and/or solutions to appropriate team member. Must follow all processes and procedures as written. As needed, document and/or chart production data to aid in problem identification, quality feedback and production scheduling. Assist other team members in their duties to ensure a quality product and smooth flow.
8. Evaluate defective material, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages; advise and recommend alternatives to appropriate person. (May require the use of computer and telecommunication device.) Confer with supervisor as to various quality requirements.
9. Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations. May be required to move stock and material. The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned. 10. Responsible for the operation of the department and all routine matters in the supervisor's absence.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree
• Must pass Flex-Force Test and Machine Set-Up Test
• Must have current, valid driver's license and pass tow motor physical.

To that end, this position has a salary pay rate of $29.09, plus shift differential for off shifts. The pay rate is based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
