Special Education Teacher – Moderate
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in a school-based setting. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about providing individualized instruction and helping students achieve their academic and personal goals.
Position Details:
- Location: Blythewood, SC
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- End Date: May 2027 or with notice of contract completion
- Caseload: Approximately 8–10 students
- Student Ages: 15–21
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support based on individual student needs
- Develop and implement effective instructional strategies and IEP goals
- Monitor and document student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
- Serve as the Special Education Case Manager for assigned students
- Develop, maintain, and monitor IEPs and ensure compliance with special education requirements
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Support students in developing academic, behavioral, and functional skills
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Multi- categorical/Moderate
- Special education teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
