Special Education Teacher – Preschool Autism Class

We are seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to support preschool-aged students in an Autism Support Program in the Blythewood, SC area . This full-time opportunity is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with young children and creating individualized learning experiences that promote communication, development, and independence.

Position Highlights

• Location: Blythewood, SC
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Contract: Through May 2027 or with notice of contract completion
• Caseload: Approximately 4–10 students, with enrollment subject to change as new students qualify
• Student Ages: 3–4 years old
• School Sites: 1

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals
• Create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for preschool learners
• Support communication, social-emotional, behavioral, and early academic development
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and individualized interventions
• Collect data and monitor progress toward student goals
• Serve as the Special Education Case Manager for assigned students
• Develop and maintain IEPs, progress reports, and required documentation
• Collaborate with families, classroom staff, administrators, and related service providers
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification in the appropriate area
• Experience working with preschool students and/or students with autism preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Patient, flexible, collaborative, and student-centered approach
