Executive Director Opportunity Profile & Job Description Lead. Connect. Build. Serve. Help shape the next chapter of Impact46—and the community it serves. About Impact46 Impact46 strengthens Lawrenceville by bringing people, organizations, and resources together to improve quality of life and community well-being. Working at the intersection of city government, the faith community, and the broader community, we identify needs, build partnerships, and turn collaboration into practical service. Current initiatives include City-supported utility and housing assistance; shelter and development services for men experiencing homelessness; leadership development for high school students; a summer internship program; and other programs designed to strengthen both citizens and the Lawrenceville community. The Opportunity Impact46 has established strong programs, trusted partnerships, and meaningful community support. The Board, City leaders, faith community, and community partners are committed to its continued success. We are seeking an Executive Director (ED) who can build on that tradition of service to lead Impact46 into its next chapter. The right leader will combine vision with execution-recognizing emerging needs, developing distinctive services and partnerships, expanding financial support, leading staff effectively, and ensuring that Impact46 remains accountable, well-managed, and focused on measurable community impact. What the Executive Director Will Lead Strategic direction —working with the Board to turn Lawrenceville needs and opportunities into focused priorities and measurable results. Fundraising and development —building relationships with donors, churches, businesses, foundations, and grant makers to diversify and grow financial support. Community partnerships —strengthening Impact46's relationships with the City of Lawrenceville, faith community, schools, nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses, and community leaders. Organizational leadership —leading the Operations Director, Program Director, and staff through clear expectations, accountability, strong systems, and a culture of service and excellence. Program impact —ensuring current programs remain effective while developing thoughtful new initiatives that fit Impact46's mission and capacity. Financial stewardship and Board partnership —maintaining organizational sustainability, transparency, and a productive relationship with the volunteer Board of Directors. The Leader We Are Looking For We are looking for a visible, trusted, and entrepreneurial community leader who can move comfortably among city leaders, pastors, donors, business leaders, staff, students, volunteers, and the people Impact46 serves. A relationship-builder who earns trust and brings people with different perspectives together around a common purpose. A successful fundraiser who is comfortable inviting people and organizations to invest in a mission that matters. A strategic thinker who sees possibilities and can turn good ideas into practical, sustainable action. A strong manager who develops people, establishes accountability, and leads without controlling every detail. A compelling communicator who can clearly tell the Impact46 story and demonstrate its value to Lawrenceville. A leader who combines compassion with accountability, innovation with responsible stewardship, and vision with sound judgment and integrity. What Success Looks Like Success will be reflected in a stronger and more sustainable Impact46: expanded and diversified financial support, deeper community partnerships, effective staff leadership, measurable program results, thoughtful new initiatives, and a reputation for integrity, collaboration, and meaningful service to Lawrenceville. Position Summary & Core Responsibilities The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of Impact46 and is accountable to the Board of Directors for strategy, fundraising, community relationships, staff leadership, financial stewardship, and organizational performance. The ED advances Impact46's mission by working closely with city government, the faith community, businesses, schools, nonprofits, donors, and other community partners. The ED directly supervises the Operations Director and Program Director. Strategic Leadership & Community Impact Implement Board-approved strategy and convert priorities into measurable annual goals. Identify emerging Lawrenceville needs and develop appropriate programs, partnerships, and funding strategies. Evaluate programs for mission alignment, measurable results, cost effectiveness, and continued community need. Negotiate and administer contracts and intergovernmental agreements for Impact46 and its points of service. Report organizational performance, opportunities, and significant risks to the Board. Own and execute the annual fundraising and development plan with measurable revenue goals. Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, churches, businesses, foundations, and other funding partners. Lead grant prospecting, proposal development, renewals, reporting, and foundation relationships. Diversify contributed revenue through individual giving, corporate support, sponsorships, church support, grants, campaigns, and events. Engage Board members in donor introductions, cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship; report fundraising performance regularly. City, Faith & Community Relations Serve as Impact46's principal public representative and maintain a visible, trusted presence in Lawrenceville. Maintain strong working relationships with the City of Lawrenceville, elected officials, city staff, faith leaders, businesses, schools, civic organizations, foundations, nonprofits, and volunteers. Coordinate with the city and community stakeholders on the Mayor's Quarterly Faith Luncheon and monthly Community Prayer Gatherings. Communicate Impact46's mission, results, needs, and vision clearly to partners, supporters, media, and the community. Staff & Organizational Management Directly supervise, develop, and evaluate the Operations Director, Program Director, and other senior staff as assigned. Set clear goals, responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability for senior leadership. Ensure effective personnel policies, management systems, organizational procedures, and internal communication. Recruit and retain qualified staff and maintain a culture of service, integrity, teamwork, accountability, and excellence. Address significant personnel and organizational issues promptly and appropriately. Program Oversight Hold the Program Director accountable for program delivery, quality, outcomes, and compliance with funding commitments. Ensure programs remain responsive to community needs and consistent with Impact46's mission and strategy. Use program data and outcomes to guide decisions, demonstrate impact, and support fundraising and community engagement. Develop the annual operating budget with staff and Board leadership and recommend it for Board approval. Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, restricted funds, fundraising performance, and overall financial condition. Ensure appropriate financial controls, accurate reporting, required filings, audits or reviews, and grant compliance. Identify financial risks early and strengthen reserves and long-term sustainability. Board Partnership & Governance Maintain a candid, professional, and productive relationship with the Board and provide timely information for effective governance and decision-making. Work with the Board Chair to prepare effective meetings and implement Board-approved policies and direction. Support Board recruitment, orientation, engagement, fundraising, and community ambassadorship. Maintain clear boundaries between Board governance and executive management. The ED reports to the Board collectively. Experience & Qualifications Candidates should bring significant leadership experience in a nonprofit, faith-based, community, governmental, business, or related organization; demonstrated success in fundraising, donor or grant development, and community relationship-building; experience leading professional staff and working with a volunteer Board; and strong strategic, financial, organizational, and communication skills. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in a related area is preferred. The Questions That Guide Our Work What does Lawrenceville need? What can Impact46 uniquely do about it?
