Location : US:CO:BOULDER Department: Human Resources Position Title: Specialist -HR Investigations Employee Relations Position Start Date: September 21, 2026 Position Type: Prof Tech FTE: 0.50 - 20 hours per week - Regular, ongoing Work Schedule: 261 Days - 12 Months - July Salary Range 5:* $40,573.50 - $60,860.50 Closing Date: August 30, 2026 Our People Are Our Strength in BVSD Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position will conduct formal and informal intake interviews and assess reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and other workplace misconduct that violates district policies. Conducts formal investigations, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing documents, and creating written evidence summaries, and final investigation reports. Works to minimize employee relations related liability. Maintain a strong working knowledge of federal and state laws and provide expertise in Title VI, VII, and IX. Responsibilities: Investigate sensitive and/or complex employee relations matters from start to finish, including conducting intake, leading interviews, note-taking, gathering and analyzing evidence (electronic, physical, etc.), documenting findings, and following up with the relevant parties, including bargaining units, such as BVEA, BVEOP, BVCEA, and BVPA. Document investigation and summarize findings in a report. Collect and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations on mitigation strategies. Discreetly and confidently handle sensitive and/or private information. Provide written summaries of findings. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: 2-3 years professional experience conducting investigations, 1 of which must be conducting sexual misconduct, harassment, or discrimination investigations. Excellent written and spoken business skills and an ability to compose grammatically correct, concise and accurate written responses. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues correctly and clearly Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security standards Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Science, or a related field and 3 years of experience conducting a variety of labor/management investigations, training, and related activities. Bilingual/ English and Spanish Experience in a K-12 educational setting Salary Information: Salary Range 5:*$40,573.50 - $60,860.50 Salary Placement varies according to experience and education. *Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on appropriate salary schedule).
