ASSISTANT PROJECT COORDINATOR

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Projects Manager and/or their designee, the Assistant Project Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Capital Improvement Projects at the JMEUC wastewater treatment plant. This role assists with construction observation, documentation, and monitoring of contractor activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and safety standards. The position also provides administrative and technical support to the Projects Department, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution, required General knowledge of wastewater treatment, construction practices, engineering principles, and/or related fields preferred Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering plans, drawings, contract documents, and specifications preferred Valid driver’s license with no serious violations Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Adobe Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and exercise sound judgment Must be authorized to work in the United States

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist with construction observation, reporting, and monitoring of contractor compliance for Capital Improvement Projects Support the Projects Manager with departmental tasks and project coordination activities Review project documentation and assist in ensuring compliance with contract specifications and requirements Communicate effectively with internal staff, contractors, and external stakeholders Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project activities Utilize computer systems and software for reporting, documentation, and communication Adhere to all safety procedures within the treatment plant Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to review work for accuracy Manage time and workload effectively in a dynamic work environment Perform all other related duties as assigned

SALARY RANGE

$68,000 – $78,000 annually, based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Joint Meeting of Essex & Union Counties
