WINE SALES REPRESENTATIVE – ESTABLISHED AUSTIN TERRITORY

Vintures, a growing Texas wine distributor and importer, is seeking a wine professional to take over and grow an established Austin territory.

The current account base generates approximately $70,000 in annual commissions, with substantial opportunity to increase earnings through existing account growth and new business development.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with relevant wine industry experience, strong Austin customer relationships, and a desire to represent exceptional, family-owned wineries.

Vintures is a wine distribution and import company dedicated to representing hard-to-find, exceptional wines, with an emphasis on estate and family-owned wineries and sustainable practices. Our portfolio features over 200 producers and 700 wines from around the world.

We’re growing rapidly across Texas, building our presence in restaurants, wine bars, country clubs, and retail—including an expanding partnership with H-E-B. We welcome candidates with wine distributor sales experience, as well as sommeliers and restaurant beverage professionals with strong Austin relationships who are ready to move into sales.

YOUR ROLE

You will manage and grow an established Austin account base while developing new business throughout the territory. Responsibilities include:

• Managing relationships with on-premise accounts, including restaurants, wine bars, and country clubs, and off-premise accounts, including independent retailers, H-E-B, Central Market, Total Wine, and Spec’s.
• Expanding wine placements and sales within existing accounts.
• Opening new accounts and developing lasting customer relationships.
• Planning regular account visits and identifying priority opportunities.
• Coordinating staff training, wine dinners, tastings, and supplier visits.
• Maintaining clear communication with customers and the Vintures team.
• Achieving sales targets and contributing to Vintures’ continued growth in Austin.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Relevant wine industry experience, whether in distributor sales, as a sommelier, or in restaurant wine and beverage management, with strong relationships in the Austin market.
• Strong wine knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing it with customers.
• Relationship-building skills and a commitment to dependable customer service.
• Drive and independence, with the initiative to manage and grow your territory.
• Organization and follow-through, including effective time management and tracking sales opportunities.
• Strong communication skills, with confidence prospecting, opening accounts, and presenting wines.
• Comfort with basic technology for sales reporting, ordering, and communication.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current vehicle registration and liability insurance.

COMPENSATION

• Established territory currently generating approximately $70,000 in annual commissions.
• Potential to earn $100,000+ annually through growth within existing accounts and new business development.
• Additional earning opportunities through supplier-sponsored sales incentives.
• Independent contractor opportunity (1099), with commission-based compensation.

Actual earnings depend on sales performance and account retention.
