Overview 777-9 Deputy Fleet Chief (Senior or Principal) – The Boeing Commercial Airplanes organization is seeking an experienced leader to support the 777 Fleet Chief Office in Seal Beach, California. The role focuses on ensuring the safe and economical operation of the 777 fleet, addressing airline concerns, and representing Boeing’s interests in technical and executive meetings. Primary Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned airline customers and act as their “voice of the customer.” Advocate for and develop innovative solutions to complex customer issues, collaborating with Boeing internal organizations and the Fleet Chief. Provide senior technical oversight to the 777 Fleet Team, including solving items raised on the Fleet Team Idea Exchange (FIX) bulletin board and leading Fleet Team meetings. Attend and, when required, chair fleet boards and meetings such as Design Office Reviews, Change Boards, Fleet Team Integration and Project Reviews, In‑Service Investigation (ISI), Safety Review Board (SRB), Fleet Support Review Board (FSRB), and Service Related Problem (SRP) meetings. Maintain relationships with external suppliers, including Supplier Management, Warranty, Fleet Support Engineering, Design Engineering, and Material Management. Respond swiftly to significant customer needs, resolving complex problems with innovative solutions. Serve as a senior technical consultant or advisor to senior leadership on customer and fleet issues, and represent the Fleet Chief at executive and technical review meetings and regional technical conferences. Travel internationally and domestically as required (approximately 25% of the time). Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the job. Minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a cross‑functional team environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Travel Requirement Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally. Work Authorization 100% onsite work required at the Seal Beach, California location. Pay and Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
