Accounting Manager

Role Description The Accounting Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Grand Haven, M. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including managing general ledger activity, supervising journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. The Accounting Manager monitors fixed asset accounting, supports budgeting and forecasting, and performs financial analysis to inform business decisions. Responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, coordinating with external auditors, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. This position also involves mentoring accounting staff and helping to standardize best practices across the finance function. Qualifications Strong foundation in accounting and finance, including experience with Financial Statements and Finance-related reporting (5+ years). Hands‑on expertise with general ledger processes, including Journal Entries (Accounting) and Fixed Assets management. Working knowledge of inventory costing, and/or experience in Managerial Accounting. Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and supporting strategic decisions. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced skills in spreadsheet and data analysis tools. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage. Experience in managing or leading an accounting team, with strong organizational and time management abilities. Knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements, with a commitment to accuracy and internal controls.
