Job Description Mars Petcare- Shift Controls Technician- Columbus, OH Pay Range: Based on experience: $44- $59/hour Shift Premium: $1.50/hour Sign On Bonus: $5K This site manufactures petfood: Pedigree, Cesar, Nutro, Iams, Whiskas and Sheba. Shift Schedule Rotating Shift (must be available for all) 1st Shift Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Weekend Off 2nd Shift Monday–Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Weekend Off 3rd Shift Monday–Friday: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM 5 Days Off Monday- Friday Description of Role The Controls Technician is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to the production floor and responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical/motor controls and PLC Logic to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance. What are we looking for? Minimum Requirements High school diploma, GED or equivalent education 3+ years’ experience in electrical systems, controls and/or automation. Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems Able to accurately read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Physical Requirements Occasionally lift/carry (10-50 lbs) and push/pull (50-300 lbs) Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping. If requested, able to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces. Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree, Bachelors degree or relevant certifications in a technical field Prior experience in a manufacturing environment Expert in electrical and controls systems Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, inspections, calibration, modifications and upgrades on electrical and controls equipment including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems Support the installation and setup of new control systems and automation equipment Identify and resolve minor faults in control systems and recommend continuous improvements Maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for control system maintenance Follow all safety procedures and protocols when servicing control systems and electrical equipment Any ad hoc requests Total Rewards Pay: Based on experience between $44- $59/hour Shift Differential: $1.50/hour Sign on Bonus: $5K Annual Bonus and Merit Increases Benefits Starting Day One: Medical, Vision, and Dental Up to 6% 401(k) match Vacation time Tuition reimbursement Short/Long-Term Disability 18 weeks parental leave Relocation will not be offered What can you expect from Mars?
