Job Summary Provide high‑quality, patient‑focused health care services within the scope of practice based on physician orders. Perform general and specific X‑rays, CT scans, laboratory testing, and related duties in compliance with Texas State laws, company policies, and CLIA standards. Role Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Documented clinical experience performing CT scanning. Can perform CT procedures independently. Experience with sterile technique procedures. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Current BLS required; ACLS preferred. Continuing education to maintain license renewal per state guidelines. Pass a background check. At least 2 years of radiology and CT experience; free‑standing emergency center experience is a plus. Exceptional technical skills. Ability to take vital signs and assist with triage as delegated by RN and physician. Assist with basic facility maintenance such as trash removal, linen unpacking, and order fulfillment. Ability to work with patients of all ages. Current ARRT license in good standing. Current Texas MRT license in good standing. Responsibilities Radiology Duties Prepare patient for X‑ray, CT scan, explain procedure to patient/family, and prepare room, equipment, and materials. Position patient and arrange immobilization and support devices. Practice radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patient and staff. Adjust equipment controls, determine proper voltage, and exposure time. Administer routine X‑ray exams. Observe patient and machine during procedure; report unusual occurrences and document patient’s condition. Document patient chart with procedures performed. Clean and disinfect radiology room and equipment; maintain and order supplies. Perform radiology quality assurance tests and maintain records. Assist front‑end registration staff or other clerical duties as necessary. Know specific and OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures. Accurately read and write medical terminology. Work in a high‑pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service. Work all shifts, including day, evening, weekends, and holiday hours as needed. Be an effective team player. Be detail oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Manage time efficiently and anticipate workflow, performing synchronous tasks. Use company software to monitor, manage, and track tasks and projects efficiently. Basic typing and computer proficiency; preferably experienced with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR/EMP systems, etc. Laboratory Duties Learn and master immunoassay instrument procedures including running calibrations, controls, reagents, detergents, and sample testing. Learn simple daily immunoassay machine maintenance. Complete training in laboratory equipment usage and required documentation to comply with OSHA and CLIA standards. Conduct patient interview and document relevant information for laboratory paperwork. Decant urine specimens into sample tubes and complete immunoassay testing per SOPs and laboratory machine manuals. Perform laboratory testing on patient samples per SOPs and instruction manuals, including daily controls and calibrations as required. Perform corrective actions and routine maintenance of lab equipment as instructed in training and SOPs. Prepare machine assay reports for placement into physician’s medical records. Contact equipment servicer, Lab Director, Clinical Consultant, or technical consultant for assistance as needed. Dispose of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste per OSHA guidelines. Prepare laboratory billing sheets and supply insurance data to the billing company by fax or other required methods. Maintain inventory of consumables, office supplies, and paperwork necessary for daily operations. Assist in laboratory operations as directed by Nurse Manager or other delegated authority, including inventory management, accounting, and marketing duties. Report immediately to Nurse Manager any clinical, equipment, or business issues that arise during operations that are unusual, hazardous, disruptive, or require corrective action. Physical Demands Lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent lifts and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Walking, standing, feeling, reaching, seeing, stooping, smelling, with depth perception and color vision. Perform CPR and chest compressions. Work with arms above head for extended periods while moving and manipulating the X‑ray tube. Handle multiple priorities, manage stress, exercise independent discretion and decision‑making. Work alone effectively and make decisions under pressure. Work in close proximity to others or in a distracting environment. Working Conditions and General Requirements May be exposed to chemical hazards as described in materials safety data sheets and OSHA standards. May encounter disagreeable conditions such as odors, infection, illness, and physical contact from disruptive patients. Work in a safety‑conscious manner, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations. Interact tactfully and diplomatically with patients, families, visitors, and co‑workers to provide a caring environment that respects patient rights and ensures physical safety. Maintain dependable attendance, cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code standards. Have reliable transportation to and from work.
