Environmental Laboratory Technician I (2nd Shift)

Laboratory Technician IWe are looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician I to fill our 2nd shift, Monday - Friday position, in our Wilmington, NC lab. The regular work schedule for this position may vary depending on departmental and operational requirements. Employees in this role may be required to work different shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may also be required based on workload and business needs. Flexibility and reliability in scheduling are essential for this position.To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Preparation of samples for analysisPreparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipmentSample extractionsDetermining the volume of samplesCleaning of laboratory glasswareMaintaining clean laboratory areasMaintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysisOverhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analysesAssisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentationComply with Quality Assurance Program and other policiesComply with Health and Safety PlanOther duties as assignedYour Expertise and SkillsBA / BS Degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training)Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)Able to work independently and make sound decisionsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailWork Environment and Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, and walkingLifting 50 pounds several times a dayOverhead lifting of over 20 poundsWorks in an office environment when not deployed on an emergency responseMay be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditionsMay occasionally work shifts up to 24 hours in durationWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
