Accounting Clerk I - Senior Accounts Payable Clerk FLSA: Non-Exempt Reports To: Assistant Controller
Physical Requirements: Must sit at computer for extended periods of time Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $20.45-27.11/HR Job Summary: This position takes the lead in maintaining the agency's accounts payable information. The Senior AP Clerk will process invoices, analyze expense reports to assign payments to the proper cost centers, work with vendors to resolve past due invoices and reconcile monthly statements with vendors. Job Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Accounting or a business-related field and two years of related experience or Highschool degree and four years of related experience.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Assure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions including receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
- Prepare month end accrual entries.
- Resolve unmatched invoices by following established procedures.
- Provide support, training and backup for the Accounting Clerk II position.
- Interface with internal departments as well as external companies to ensure reliability of financial information.
- Provide information for internal and external audits as needed.
- Attend training as deemed necessary.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
