IP Patent Docket Specialist

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Docket Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Patent Support Unit (PATSU). Under the supervision of the Docket Supervisor, the Docket Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining all areas of the patent computerized docket system. The Docket Specialist will also have daily contact with and receive guidance from the practice group lawyers and staff they support. This position can reside in either of the following locations: San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto), Orange County, Century City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington D.C., with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility to work overtime is preferred. Key responsibilities Coordinate all areas of the CPI database Maintain all information pertaining to each specific application and docket due dates, and remarks Handle incoming domestic and foreign client related communications Handle incoming Patent and Trademark Office communications filed in the Patent office Process delivery of incoming electronic communications pursuant to departmental procedures Provide docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers Experience and qualifications High school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail Time‑management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment Benefits Medical coverage, with a variety of plans Health care and dependent care reimbursement accounts Domestic partner coverage Parental leave Vacation and holiday leave Life and accident insurance Income protection, including sick leave, salary continuation, and long term disability Salary & Compensation Century City, Los Angeles, and Orange County, CA: $67,400 – $107,825 Chicago, IL: $62,000 – $99,200 Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C.: $64,700 – $103,475 San Francisco and Silicon Valley, CA: $70,070 – $112,093 Application Process Qualified candidates must apply online by visiting our website at and selecting "Careers".
