Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Pedi Horizons Clinic, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations of pediatric patients, assessing their health and development.
• Recording comprehensive medical histories and any presenting symptoms to develop accurate diagnoses.
• Performing and ordering necessary diagnostic tests, interpreting results to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnosing and managing common pediatric acute and chronic conditions, with a focus on preventive care.
• Creating and adjusting patient care plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary health professionals.
• Educating parents and guardians on pediatric care, health promotion, and preventive strategies, fostering an environment of trust and support.
• Administering medications and treatments as needed, closely monitoring patient responses and adjusting care accordingly.
• Collaborating with physicians and specialists to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients from birth to age 18, providing care tailored to each stage of development. This includes managing routine well-child visits, vaccinations, and addressing both common and complex medical issues seen within the pediatric population. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) specialization or an equivalent qualification.
• An active and unrestricted Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license in the state of Texas.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatric primary care protocols and guidelines.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a pediatric office or children’s hospital would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

This contract position offers a competitive hourly salary ranging from $100 to $116, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
