We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Indianapolis, Indiana on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position is suited for an accounting specialist who enjoys maintaining accurate records, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to daily accounting activities. The role offers the opportunity to work across core accounting processes while helping ensure reliable and timely financial information.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare internal financial reports and help keep accounting records current and accurate.
• Oversee general ledger activity, including account analysis and routine reconciliations.
• Create, review, and post journal entries to support daily and monthly accounting needs.
• Assist with month-end close tasks and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to promote accurate transaction recording.
• Monitor accounting data for completeness and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Use the McLeod accounting system to process transactions and maintain financial information.• Experience preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation practices.
• Familiarity with month-end close activities and financial statement support.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in financial records.
• Comfort working with accounting systems, including McLeod, and standard reporting tools.
