Work Environment\n The mental health therapist will work in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while connecting deeply with clients through teletherapy. Our dedicated team collaborates using advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems to provide seamless patient care. This position also requires participation in regular team meetings and consultation sessions, fostering a collaborative environment focused on clinical best practices. Key Responsibilities\n \n Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments for patients, identifying their unique trauma history and construct personalized treatment strategies. \n Design and implement individualized treatment plans dedicated to trauma recovery, recovery-oriented support, and resilience-building. \n Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patient healing. \n Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process traumatic experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms. \n Work in tandem with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs. \n Deliver crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate support and guidance to patients and their families. \n Educate patients and their loved ones about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources to promote understanding and support. \n Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation according to legal and ethical standards, contributing to a robust tracking of patient progress. \n Engage in professional development activities, including training and continuing education, to stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy. \n Patient Population / Client Focus\n In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who have faced significant trauma, including complex PTSD and dissociative disorders. Our diverse clientele ranges from children to adults, each presenting unique challenges shaped by their experiences. As a mental health therapist, your expertise will help empower these individuals as they navigate their paths to recovery. Qualifications\n \n Must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n Current and active licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York. \n Demonstrated ability to engage compassionately with patients, showcasing a non-judgmental and supportive approach. \n Excellent interpersonal communication skills, enabling you to form strong therapeutic alliances and provide effective patient education. \n Preferred Experience\n \n A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling setting is preferred. \n Proficient knowledge and experience in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities and resilience-focused approaches. \n Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team is a plus. \n Compensation and Benefits\n Avella Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive annual salary between $90,000 and $110,000, commensurate with experience.
