Business Development Assistant

The Business Development Assistant provides operational, administrative, and project support to the Business Development team, helping to drive client development, marketing initiatives, and business growth across the firm's U.S. offices. This role supports a broad range of activities, including business development reporting, pitch production, client relationship management, practice group support, database maintenance, and administrative coordination.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment. The Business Development Assistant works closely with Business Development managers, specialists, attorneys, and administrative teams to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Business Development team.
• Support the onboarding process for lateral attorneys, including coordinating biography development, practice group materials, and internal introductions.
• Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and coordinating follow-up actions.
• Assist with the preparation and production of pitches, proposals, capability statements, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
• Format documents and presentations to ensure consistency with firm branding standards.
• Review and proofread materials for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and quality control.
• Update opportunity tracking systems and support pipeline reporting.
• Generate and distribute periodic dashboards, reports, and analytics to support practice group and leadership initiatives.
• Update contact records, mailing lists, and distribution groups to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Assist with maintaining knowledge databases and internal resource repositories.
• Support calendar management and tracking of business development initiatives and milestones.
• Attend meetings as needed and prepare meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up communications.
• Monitor and track media opportunities, industry developments, speaking engagements, sponsorships, awards, rankings, and directory submissions.
• Assist with client research, market intelligence gathering, and competitive analysis.

Qualifications


Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Previous internship or professional experience in marketing, business development, professional services, legal services, or a related environment is preferred.
• Experience working with CRM, contact management, or business development systems is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, and editing skills.
• Proficiency in CoPilot and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with attorneys and business professionals.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Familiarity with InterAction, iManage, Power BI, or other legal marketing technology platforms is desirable.

The annualized salary range for this role is $51,000-$55,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
