Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract (Travel)
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $31.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 4x12 Variable or 3x12 Variable (traveler's choice) Days or Nights dependent on facility needs at time of start date. Caregivers are not asked to rotate between night/day shifts (occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs). Night shift: 19:007:30; Day shift: 7:0019:30.
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
• Travel Requirements: Previous travel experience required. Locals not accepted candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Long Term Care (LTC) travel CNA position based at a long-term care facility in Seward, AK. The facility is a 40-bed Long Term Care Facility that uses ECS for charting. This position is open to 26-week or 13-week assignments at the traveler's choice, with an ASAP start date. First-time travelers are not accepted for this role previous travel experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care facility setting
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Adhere to a patient ratio of 1:20
• Obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in a LTC facility (certification is completed during orientation on-site at the facility; does not need to be completed prior to start date)
• Operate a facility-provided or rental vehicle solely for use around town, within a 30-mile radius of the facility, and in compliance with all stated vehicle use policies
• Return vehicle cleaned and with a full tank of gas; turn in vehicle during any time off and receive a new vehicle upon return
• Provide a copy of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating any vehicle
• Ensure personal vehicle insurance policy includes rental car coverage to cover any accidents or damages to a rental car

Required Skills

• Long Term Care (LTC) experience
• BLS certification
• Willingness and ability to work any holidays (preferred by facility)
• Ability to work Days or Nights as determined by facility needs at time of start
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (required for vehicle use)

Education Requirements

• AK CNA License: Alaska CNA license can be pending, but candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application in order to apply. If the AK CNA license is pending, the following must be submitted with the application:
• Valid CNA license in another state
• Verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate, transcript, etc.)
• Candidate must provide documentation of license application including: application submittal, application fee paid, fingerprints (FPs) submitted, educational verification submitted, and license verification submitted
• Alaska Food Worker Certification (required for all caregivers working in LTC; obtained during orientation on-site there is a one-time fee for this certification)
• BLS certification required

• Previous travel assignment experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Vehicle available no earlier than 72 hours before contract begins and no longer than 24 hours after contract ends - Only the traveler is authorized to operate the vehicle - Vehicles are provided solely for use around town and must not be taken off-road or outside a 30-mile radius from the facility - If traveler has time off during the contract, the vehicle must be turned in during time off and will be reissued upon return - Tire chains are available at an additional cost billed to the traveler - Vehicle must be returned cleaned and with a full tank of gas

Important Notes

• Previous travel experience is required. First-time travelers are not accepted.
• Locals not accepted: Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
• Pending AK CNA License: Accepted, but the candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application prior to applying. Candidates who have not yet submitted their application should be redirected.
• RTO Restrictions: No more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract. Preference is for travelers to be willing and able to work any holidays. All RTO must be sent with the submittal. RTO will not be considered if requested after an offer or after signing the contract.
• Alaska Food Worker Certification: All caregivers are required to obtain this certification as a requirement of working in a LTC facility. Clinicians will obtain certification during orientation on-site at the facility. They do not need to complete this prior to their start date. There is a one-time fee for this certification.
