Job Details Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown Employment Type: Travel RN Contract Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 Start Date: 9/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: 12-hour night shifts Hours per Week: 36 hours, with a 48-hour option available Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care / Telemetry Unit Highlights: 12-bed unit with an average daily census of 10 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890 Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and every other holiday; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Virginia RN license accepted with required timeline Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience BLS and ACLS certification required Epic EMR experience required Experience with cardiac telemetry, intermediate care, or stepdown patients preferred Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with medical, surgical, or trauma-related diagnoses BSN preferred Willingness to float within scope of practice as needed Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate care to cardiac stepdown patients with complex medical, surgical, and trauma-related needs Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, responding promptly to changes in patient condition Administer and manage IV therapies, cardiac drips, vasoactive support, and insulin protocols as appropriate Deliver care for central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, drains, and other stepdown needs Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, IV services, pharmacy, rapid response, and physical therapy Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team Maintain a safe, organized unit environment while following established policies and best practices Why Consider This Virginia Nursing Job?
