Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their unique needs and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing common emotional challenges such as grief, anxiety, and the difficulties of aging.

• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to create and implement integrated care plans that improve overall health outcomes for clients.

• Educate family members and caregivers on effective strategies to support the mental and emotional well-being of their elderly loved ones.

• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, helping them navigate the complex emotions associated with end-of-life challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with older adults facing a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders related to significant life changes and loss. Understanding the unique needs and perspectives of geriatric clients is essential in fostering a therapeutic relationship that leads to effective support and positive outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Massachusetts is essential.

Compensation and Benefits\n
