Leasing Agent

Location: Fremont, CA

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Leasing Agent to support its Fremont portfolio. This position is responsible for leasing activities, applicant processing, resident relations, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and a strong customer service background.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full leasing process, including responding to inquiries, conducting property tours, and processing applications.
• Screen applicants and verify eligibility in accordance with LIHTC and affordable housing program requirements.
• Maintain waiting lists and applicant files, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare lease agreements, renewals, recertifications, and other resident documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents.
• Assist residents with move-in and move-out procedures.
• Coordinate with property management staff to ensure unit readiness and occupancy goals are met.
• Maintain accurate leasing records and reports within property management systems.
• Support annual and interim recertifications for affordable housing programs.
• Educate residents and applicants on community policies, procedures, and housing program requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Leasing Agent, Leasing Consultant, Property Assistant, or related property management role.
• Direct LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) experience required.
• Knowledge of affordable housing compliance, leasing regulations, and resident eligibility requirements.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance standards.
• Experience working in affordable housing, multifamily housing, or nonprofit housing environments.
• Knowledge of additional affordable housing programs such as HUD, Tax Credit, Section 8, or other subsidy programs.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $26.00 per hour
