Passionate about empowering students with special needs? This contract opportunity centers on supporting elementary-aged learners who require significant assistance, and is ideal for professionals with deep knowledge and experience in special education.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure (CDE SPED) required
- Experience working with students who have significant support needs, preferably in an elementary school environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction as needed
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with significant support needs on-site
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on students’ individual strengths and areas for growth
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with families and colleagues
- Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student independence and achievement
Scheduling and Details:
- The role spans from August 20th, 2026, to June 3rd, 2027
- Work 34 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday (no school on Mondays) from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Position is onsite in the SSN program at an elementary setting
