Direct Counsel is representing a national law firm seeking a dynamic and driven Entertainment Transactions Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level attorney (3–6 years of experience) with a passion for entertainment and intellectual property to work on high-level corporate transactions, content creation, and rights acquisitions.
This position blends the thrill of the entertainment industry with the rigor of corporate law, offering a front-row seat to complex IP deals, catalog acquisitions, and production-related legal matters. The right candidate will join a tight-knit, mission-driven team that values creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
What You'll DoDraft, negotiate, and manage sophisticated agreements in music and other entertainment IP.
Support major catalog sales, acquisitions, and IP transactions.
Advise on production matters related to the creation and distribution of film, television, and digital content.
Work alongside partners, associates, and consultants on multifaceted entertainment and financing deals.
Strategically support high-profile talent, studios, investors, and rights holders.
Grow your expertise through hands-on experience with cutting-edge entertainment legal issues.
An attorney with 2-3 years of corporate transactional experience , ideally within the entertainment or IP field.
Experienced in catalog sales/acquisitions (preferred).
A self-starter who says "yes" to opportunity and brings solutions to challenges.
A strong communicator with excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple deals at once.
Collaborative, curious, and committed to continual learning and growth.
Someone who sees both the big picture and the fine print—able to think strategically while minding the details.
Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing of the Bar in the jurisdiction where you intend to work.
