Laboratory Assistant

Pride Health is hiring Specimen Processing / Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Title: Specimen Processing / Lab Assistant Location: Pittsburgh, PA Schedule: 3rd Shift 10pm-6:30am EST, shifts variable Pay Range/Salary Range: $18 - $20 Contract Duration: 3+ months Job Description: Position Requirements/Environment 1. Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment. 2. Communicates effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and written. 3. Maintains composure while working under pressure. 4. Always reflects good judgment when determining what action to take in resolving problems. 5. Adheres to Core Values, safety, compliance and work process policies and procedures. 6. Works in a biohazard environment, in compliance with all applicable safety requirements. 7. Keeps work area neat and clean; complies with 5S workplace standards. 8. Able to sit, stand or walk for long periods; able to lift to 50 lbs.; maneuver large carts and/or racks with specimens. 9. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive working environment. 10. Demonstrates work assignment flexibility and ability to adapt to change. 11. Must have some flexibility about work schedule. Incumbent should possess the knowledge, skills and experience usually obtained by: 1. High School Diploma or GED. 2. Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory. 3. Previous experience in a production environment preferred. 4. Prefer familiarity with mainframe computers **Bilingual candidates strongly preferred who also speak Spanish. English still must be strong, as well** Interested? Apply now!
