Work Environment\n

This role is designed to be flexible and accommodating, functioning primarily in a remote setting. Our team operates within a supportive community health clinic framework, allowing for collaboration with multi-disciplinary professionals to foster holistic family care. As a remote therapist, you will engage with families through in-home visits, community interactions, and teletherapy sessions, ensuring a personalized approach that adapts to each family’s specific circumstances.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in homes or group sessions at our outpatient center, engaging with patients in a comfortable environment to foster openness.

• Implement specialized therapeutic programs aimed at enhancing coping mechanisms and social skills while effectively managing behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.

• Provide educational resources and training to caretakers, equipping them with decision-making skills to address in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals, ensuring a consistent, integrated approach to each child's treatment.
\n
• Document all interactions and treatment plans, including intakes, progress notes, and other required paperwork, adhering to strict deadlines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to share insights, recommend interventions, and refine treatment strategies for the betterment of patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, therapists will primarily focus on children and adolescents ages 3 to 20 dealing with a variety of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will work closely with these young individuals to enhance their emotional and behavioral health while also providing essential support to their families. Your work will have a profound impact on their capacity to function positively within their communities and families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Texas is a must.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with flexibility for weekends highly desired.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes are necessary due to the nature of the in-home service delivery.
\n
• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support with a successful track record in managing challenging behaviors.
\n
• Prior experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
