Accountant 1
Work days/hours: M - F day shift
***Virtual role - HOWEVER, needs to have a scanner and must be local to San Antonio. One project requires scanning certificates in the San Antonio office***
Roles & Responsibilities
- Pull and request exemption certificates as needed (as per specific state requirements)
- Maintaining customer exemption certificates
- Maintaining tax automation software to ensure compliance accuracy
- Transaction tax audit defense
- Preparing and supporting transaction tax refund claims
- Assisting with various projects as assigned
Experience Required
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- SAP and Vertex experience are a plus.
Skills & Certifications
- Ability to utilize critical thinking/analytical skills to solve complex tax issues.
- Organizational skills to be timely and keep files complete and organized.
- Communicate professionally.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work. Pivot on assignments as necessary due to deadlines.
Eligibilities & qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- SAP and Vertex experience are a plus.
