Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will:

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

• Provide individual, family, or couples therapy sessions that address a variety of issues, including trauma, grief, and relationship dynamics.

• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, utilizing practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, or EMDR.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
\n
• Participate in regular supervision and training meetings to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest therapeutic methodologies.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

• Promote mental wellness within the community through outreach programs and educational workshops.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clientele will range from children to adults, encompassing diverse cultural backgrounds and presenting a variety of psychological concerns. You will be expected to provide empathetic, culturally responsive services, ensuring that each family receives support tailored to their unique context and needs. Helping clients improve their relationships, cope with life transitions, and nurture their mental health will be at the forefront of your work.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in New York State.
\n
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with strong communication skills to offer bilingual psychotherapy.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting with a focus on children, families, and adults.
\n
• Sensitivity to cultural and individual needs, reflecting respect and understanding in interactions.
\n
• Experience working with patients from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
\n
• Demonstrated training in CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, or other evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• An area of specialization, which could include Trauma, LGBTQ+, Grief & Loss, or Perinatal Mental Health.
\n
• Proven ability to operate within HIPAA guidelines, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

• Effective use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and competency in Microsoft Office products.

• A valid driver’s license and required insurance.
\n
• A commitment to consistent attendance and punctuality, including availability for evening and weekend sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

Additionally, candidates with a strong motivation to learn and develop short-term individual and group therapy skills will thrive in our organization. Experience as an in-network provider for insurance panels is preferable. Your ability to provide telehealth services in a compliant manner alongside in-person therapy sessions from our office will be essential.
