LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a real estate company to fill a Property Accountant position in New York City. This role is fully onsite and will be on a consulting basis for 6+ months, with the potential to evolve into a permanent position for the right candidate. We are searching for someone with strong property accounting experience, ideally within portfolios that include Low-Income Housing Tax Credit properties. Apply today for immediate consideration!

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties, including general ledger activity and month-end close
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Review financial statements and perform variance analysis
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable related to assigned properties
• Partner with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audits and compliance
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of property accounting experience within real estate portfolios
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
• Exposure to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties strongly preferred
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management/accounting systems
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

$37-45/hr

Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour
