Legal/ Law Firm IT Support

Our client is seeking a Legal Technology Support Specialist / Legal IT Systems Administrator to provide technology support for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff in a fast-paced legal environment. This position serves as a critical member of the IT team, supporting the firm's legal technology ecosystem, document management systems, courtroom technologies, Microsoft 365 environment, and day-to-day technology operations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional customer service and understands the urgency, confidentiality, and deadline-driven nature of legal practice.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Technology & Attorney Support

• Provide white-glove technical support to attorneys, partners, paralegals, and legal support staff.
• Support legal-specific applications including document management, case management, docketing, timekeeping, billing, eDiscovery, and litigation support platforms.
• Create and maintain matter workspaces, client files, and document repositories within the firm's document management system.
• Assist legal teams with trial preparation, courtroom technology, electronic exhibits, presentations, and remote proceedings.
• Support legal research tools and third-party court filing applications.
• Work closely with practice groups to troubleshoot technology issues that impact case work, client service, and legal operations.
• Coordinate technology support for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial-related activities.

End User Support & Service Desk

• Deliver responsive desktop support for hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, conferencing systems, and Microsoft applications.
• Troubleshoot issues involving Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Office applications.
• Support both onsite and remote users across multiple practice areas.
• Maintain a high level of customer service while managing competing priorities and urgent legal deadlines.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes in accordance with IT best practices.

Legal Systems Administration

• Assist with administration of document management systems, user permissions, records retention, and information governance processes.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Entra ID.
• Administer user accounts, security groups, and access permissions within Active Directory.
• Assist with workstation deployment, system upgrades, software installations, and lifecycle management.
• Support virtualization platforms, backup systems, and core infrastructure technologies.

Attorney & Staff Onboarding

• Configure user accounts, devices, security access, and legal applications for new hires.
• Deliver technology orientation and application training to attorneys and staff.
• Manage user transitions, departures, and account deprovisioning while maintaining security and compliance standards.
• Coordinate updates to firm directories, communications systems, and legal technology resources.

Information Security & Compliance

• Maintain strict confidentiality and support technology practices aligned with legal industry security requirements.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, endpoint protection, MFA administration, and security awareness efforts.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and data governance activities.
• Ensure systems and processes align with attorney-client privilege and information security standards.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in legal technology implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with vendor management and technology procurement activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, knowledge-base articles, and operational procedures.
• Evaluate new legal technology solutions that improve attorney productivity and client service delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT support experience, preferably within a law firm, legal services organization, or professional services environment.
• Experience supporting attorneys, legal staff, or executive-level users.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
• Experience with Active Directory, Windows 11, user provisioning, and permissions management.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and TCP/IP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with desktop, mobile, and cloud-based technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with legal professionals and executive stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
