You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC) in the Special Projects Branch (Code 109.41), Waterfront and Production IT Support Division (Code 109.4), in Information Technology and Cybersecurity Office (Code 109), at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth, VA of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

Help

• You will consult with customers and organizations to identify and manage requirements.
• You will build, lead and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycle.
• You will review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
• You will ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• You will develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

• Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, public laws and regulations governing the protection of controlled unclassified information including, but not limited to, privacy act data and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, as well as classified data.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 802, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Duties may require long periods of standing and walking in both office and industrial spaces. Some bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and carrying may be required, estimated weight of anything carried is less than 15 lbs.
• Routine visits to industrial work areas require use of personal protective equipment such as glasses, headgear, hearing devices, and/or protective clothing.
• This position requires rotating shift work. Work may include assignment to second, third, or rotating shifts and other than normal duty hours, while carrying a duty phone.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience overseeing and managing the operational aspects of projects and serves as liaison between project management planning and project team.
• Experience analyzing project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for completing projects.
• Experience establishing work plan and staffing for project activities, phases and arrange for assignment of project personnel.
• Experience directing and coordinating activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
