Medical Malpractice Paralegal
Our client is a well-established, full-service law firm based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with a strong reputation for providing high-quality legal services and achieving results for clients. The firm represents a diverse range of individuals and businesses, including multinational corporations, across multiple practice areas. Our client is seeking a Medical Malpractice Paralegal for a full-time, on-site position in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The paralegal will support attorneys in medical malpractice and related litigation matters, helping manage cases efficiently from initial preparation through resolution.
Responsibilities include organizing case files, tracking deadlines, conducting factual and legal research, reviewing medical records, and drafting pleadings, discovery requests, correspondence, and other legal documents. The role also involves assisting with deposition and trial preparation, coordinating with clients, experts, and witnesses, and maintaining accurate case management records and billing information.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working closely with attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, preferably with experience in medical malpractice or personal injury matters.
- Experience drafting and preparing pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and legal correspondence.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, experts, witnesses, and court personnel.
- Strong research skills, including reviewing medical records, case law, statutes, and other relevant information.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, summarize medical records, and organize evidence effectively.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal education; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a law firm or litigation environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
